Chris Sauer is a clinician-scientist dedicated to improving patient care through the analysis of real-world data and the development of evidence-based treatment strategies. He combines clinical training in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Oncology with research in applied machine learning and artificial intelligence at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence. His work is supported by multiple funding organizations, including EKFS, BMFTR, the Jackstädt Foundation, and Essen University Hospital. Chris leads the CARE (Clinical Research and Real-World Evidence) research group at Essen University Hospital and is an affiliated researcher with MIT Critical Data. He also contributes as a speaker, mentor, and collaborator in international data science initiatives, datathons, and conferences. Chris holds an M.D. from Maastricht University, a Dr. med. from RWTH Aachen University, an M.P.H. from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
