Ana Sofia Ferreira Santos

Ana completed her master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2023. Prior to joining the institute, she gained research experience across the fields of digital transformation and mobility, as well as psychology and neuroimaging. Her work included research on technology-driven solutions for sustainable and carbon-neutral urban mobility, in addition to structuring and improving the accessibility of fMRI data to support data sharing and analysis within research teams. She is currently part of the Inside:Insight consortium, pursuing her PhD on the integration of Extended Reality (XR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to develop innovative approaches to medical education and enhance learning experiences for medical students. Ana is the driving force behind the Digital Human project at IKIM!
